Customer downloads and installs the StorageCare Guardian software agent on any Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Windows 7, Sun Microsystems Solaris 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 4 or 5 server located at the customer’s site.
The StorageCare Guardian Agent monitors Quantum products, and provides limited information back to the Quantum Support.
If a product detects an error and reports it back to product support, Quantum service, through StorageCare Guardian, can capture logs remotely.
The StorageCare Guardian Agent checks access policy settings to determine if access is allowed.
Quantum support can then further diagnose the problem, and if necessary, send the needed parts and/or field personnel to resolve the issue without or prior to any customer interaction.
