StorNext customers have a broad mix of business requirements and needs.  With the offering of disk, tape, and software from Quantum you can satisfy the most demanding workflow and archiving needs without having to manage relationships from multiple vendors. 

In a high peed data sharing environment, multiple classes of disk may be needed.  FC (Fibre Channel) disk for rapid, low latency ingest and distribution operations; SATA (serial ATA) disk for storing working sets or lower quality of service data.

No matter what the requirement, Quantum has you covered.  StorNext software virtualizes multiple classes of disk storage into a single file system and then directs content to the right type of storage:  high speed content to FC, lower performance files to SATA.  And because Quantum’s StorNext Disk supports FC and SATA disk in the same array, purchasing and implementation are simple.

For digital archiving, customers will want to supplement their primary storage with SATA StorNext Disk for quick, short term disk archiving.  Using StorNext’s integrated de-duplication technology, customers can pack disk with more content than would normally be possible.  For short and long term archiving this enables customers to optimize their capacity utilization and get even greater value from their disk.
