Thank you for selecting Quantum as part of your Back-up, Restore and archiving needs. In order for your Quantum solution to be efficiently delivered and installed the following information should be reviewed:
Quantum libraries and storage appliances are delivered in palletized crates. Movement of these pallets should only be performed by an authorized representative of the shipper who delivered the library. The receipt of this notice implies that your new equipment has already been shipped and is in route to your site. Please ensure you have reviewed your loading dock and receiving requirements if special arrangements need to be made please contact the Installation Coordination Team immediately toll-free at 800-856-2342.

Installation and Configuration

Installation and Configuration services have been purchased in addition to your new storage solution; this includes the following activities performed in a single day:
- Physical installation of Quantum provided hardware.
- Configuration of the Quantum provided hardware.
- Verification of the (customer provided) OS connectivity / Communication / I/O to all Quantum-provided components.
- Review of technical support contact procedures.
- Knowledge transfer covering physical configuration, software configuration, virtual library configuration, NAS configuration, system monitoring and troubleshooting.
In order to prevent additional site visits and incurring additional fees we encourage our customers to review the following list prior to scheduling the installation date with Quantum.
- IP Address(es) Assignments
- Ethernet cable runs pulled and available (if applicable)
- Power source (receptacles) is ready and available
- Host application servers are ready
- Host application software ready
- HBAs are ready to configure
- Switch ready for zoning (if applicable)
- Range of barcodes for virtual tapes (if applicable)
- Fiber Channel cable runs pulled and available (if applicable)
- Floor tile cuts ready (if applicable)
Please notify Quantum if anyone on your data center operations support team has questions or is unclear of the above requirements.
Once your data center operations support team is ready with the above requirements, please notify Quantum's Installation Coordination team by filling out and submitting a completed Site Readiness Form. Once you have submitted your Site Readiness information a coordinator will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a mutually agreeable installation date.
