“Reliability, automation, performance levels and scalability are the qualities which drew us to the P-Series” states Noel Martin, Head of IT Department at Paul Wurth.
The P7000 features fourth generation, highly calibrated robotics, redundant components and easy serviceability to deliver maximum uptime. The P7000’s IntelliGrip™ technology precisely picks and places tapes with extreme accuracy while the hot-swappable fans, power supplies and drives can be replaced through the front or rear of the unit. Since the library remains online – you’ll save precious backup and archive time.
Innovative Prism Storage Architecture™ (PRISM) resides at the heart of the P7000 to provide truly integrated management and connectivity options. The PRISM management card provides an easy-to-use, Web-based interface that allows authorized IT staff to access the library from virtually anywhere on the Internet. PRISM encompasses a variety of other features to simplify and expand library management.
SCSI, Fibre Channel or Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options plus a wide assortment of supported drive types such as SDLT 320, SDLT 600, LTO-1 and LTO-2, allow the P7000 to integrate into a variety of network environments. IT managers can even mix and match interfaces or drive types within each library frame to address heterogeneous environments.
The P7000 supports from one to sixteen drives, per single frame and up to 679 media slots in a single frame. Up to five P7000 libraries can be configured utilizing Quantum’s unique Pass Through Mechanism (PTM), which, appears as one system to the backup software for simplified management.
With capacity of up to 204TB per single frame, the feature-rich P7000 represents one of the highest data densities per square foot in the industry. Add competitive pricing to the picture and you have an enterprise-class library that is ideal for any network environment.
