Executive Bios

Quantum is led by a strong executive leadership team committed to meeting customers' backup, recovery and archive needs and building long-term shareholder value.

Jon Gacek

President and Chief Executive Officer
Jon Gacek became President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2011, and was President and Chief Operating Officer from January 2011 to March 2011. He joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in August 2006, upon Quantum's acquisition of Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC) and was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in June 2009. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at ADIC from 1999 to 2006 and also led Operations during his last three years there. Prior to ADIC, Gacek was an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and led the Technology Practice in the firm's Seattle office. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, he assisted several private equity investment firms with a number of mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and other transactions. Gacek serves on the board of directors for Quantum, Market Leader, Inc. and Power-One, Inc.

 

Barbara Barrett

Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Barbara Barrett, senior vice president, Human Resources, joined Quantum in 1999. Prior to assuming her current role, Barrett served as vice president of Human Resources for Quantum's DLTtape business. She has an extensive HR background that includes both public and private sector experience. Before joining Quantum, Barrett held leadership positions in the telecommunications and utilities industries, among others, providing services in a variety of HR functions, including compensation, training, HR consulting and organizational development.

 

Linda Breard

Chief Financial Officer
Linda Breard joined Quantum as vice president of Finance in August 2006, upon Quantum's acquisition of Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC). In May 2009 she was promoted to senior vice president and assumed responsibility for IT and Facilities in addition to Finance, and in January 2011, she was promoted to chief financial officer. Previously, she served as vice president of Finance and Accounting at ADIC where she spent eight years in various leadership roles. Prior to ADIC, Breard worked in public accounting for six years.

 

Bill Britts

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Service and Business Development
Bill Britts has served as senior vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Service and Business Development since June 2011. Prior to that, he oversaw Quantum's Sales, Marketing and Service organizations. He joined the company as executive vice president, Sales and Marketing in August 2006, upon Quantum's acquisition of Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC). In his 12 years at ADIC, he held numerous leadership positions in Sales and Marketing. Before ADIC, Britts served in a variety of marketing and sales positions at Raychem Corp. and its subsidiary, Elo TouchSystems.

 

Rob Clark

Senior Vice President, Disk and Tape Backup Product Group
Rob Clark joined Quantum as director of Tape Products in August 2006, upon Quantum's acquisition of Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC). In March 2009, he was promoted to vice president with responsibility for various product lines, as well as business operations and OEM sales. In April 2010, he was named senior vice president, Tape and OEM Product Group (subsequently reorganized as Disk and Tape Backup Product Group). Prior to Quantum, Clark was at Hewlett-Packard for 10 years in various engineering and sales positions.

 

Shawn Hall

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Shawn Hall joined the company in 1999 as corporate counsel and assumed the role of vice president, general counsel and secretary in 2001. Prior to Quantum, Hall worked at the law firms of Skadden, Arps and Willkie Farr & Gallagher, where he practiced in the areas of mergers/acquisitions and corporate finance, representing numerous public and private technology companies.

 

Janae Stow Lee

Senior Vice President, File System and Archive Product Group
Janae Stow Lee joined Quantum in October 2007 as vice president, Marketing, and in April 2010 was promoted to senior vice president, Disk and Software Product Group (subsequently reorganized as File System and Archive Product Group). She has more than 30 years of experience in the storage industry, including 10 years working with a variety of companies in data reduction and file system software and hardware. Previously, she was chief executive officer at TimeSpring Software (now Doubletake Software); vice president of Product, Marketing and Business Development at Avamar (now EMC); and a senior sales and marketing executive at both Legato Systems (now EMC) and IBM Storage.

 

Don Martella

Senior Vice President, Engineering
Don Martella joined Quantum as vice president of Automation Engineering in August 2006, upon Quantum's acquisition of Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC). In June 2010, he was promoted to senior vice president, Platform Engineering, and in April 2011 assumed his current role. Before joining Quantum, Martella served as a vice president of Engineering and Quality at ADIC, where he spent five years in various leadership positions. Previously, he held engineering positions in the storage and process control industries.

 

Jim Mudd

Senior Vice President, Operations
Jim Mudd joined Quantum in December 2000. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as vice president of Supply Chain and, before that, director of Materials. Mudd has 30 years of manufacturing experience with high tech companies in the electronic, medical and data storage industries. He has an extensive background in manufacturing operations, having served in executive level positions at companies including Visicom/Coors Ceramics, Telectronics and Monolythic Systems.

 

Ted Stinson

Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Ted Stinson joined Quantum as senior vice president, Worldwide Sales in June 2011. Previously, Stinson spent seven years at Symantec and Veritas Software, prior to its acquisition by Symantec. His most recent position there was vice president, America Sales – Advanced Technologies, where he led the sales organization responsible for a portfolio of high-growth solutions that included data loss prevention, deduplication and archiving. Stinson also served as vice president, Strategic Operations at Symantec, where he oversaw business development, alliances, pricing, strategy and strategic marketing organizations for the Data Center Management Group. Before joining Veritas, Stinson held key senior sales, marketing and product leadership roles at Embark, a SaaS-based solution provider.
